——————————————-

Tygan Motor Company, which produces replicas of celebrated Porsche sports cars of the 1950s, has secured finance from the YFM Group-managed South West Ventures Fund. The investment will be used to expand the company’s sales and marketing operation, to increase R&D to meet new European regulations and to increase stock.

The Tygan marque was launched at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed last year with the Speedster 356 and was given the seal of approval by Porsche itself. The Beaminster based business has a growing order book and is on track to meet sales targets for 2008.

From 2009 Tygan will be offering a second model, the 550 Spyder, derived from the famous racing Porsche that competed in the Le Mans 24 Hours and the Mille Miglia.

Both designs are based on the running gear of the original Volkswagen Beetle. Tygan engineers use an original VW body shell for donor parts, including the chassis which is shortened, shot-blasted and refinished to accept new VW Beetle parts, including the engine, gearbox and suspension.

A GRP (glass reinforced plastic) body shell, identical in shape and form to the original Porsche models, is mounted on a steel sub-chassis and fitted over the chassis. The car, badged Tygan, is then hand built to the customer’s satisfaction by skilled craftsmen, painted in a new paint plant and delivered with a 12 months return-to-factory warranty.

Investment from South West Ventures Fund will allow Tygan to anticipate planned emissions requirements for ‘new build’ cars, particularly in the EU market. From next year standards will be met only by engines with catalytic converters and fuel injection so Tygan is currently evaluating a new engine which already meets the strict Californian regulations. From 2010, it is likely that ABS brakes will be mandatory and this issue is also being addressed.

A six-strong dealer network has been established in the UK and it is intended that this will be expanded into Europe in 2009 to cover the Mediterranean markets of France, Spain, Italy and Portugal. On the promotional front, Tygan is currently under contract to supply a Speedster 356 for use by Yorkshire TV in its productions of Heartbeat and The Royal.

Graham Lee, Chairman of Tygan Motor Company Ltd, said: “We believe we can generate significant interest in the UK and Europe in our cars. The investment from South West Ventures Fund will help us increase our production to 120 cars in 2009 and the business plan for 2011 is based on sales of 200 cars – an achievable and realistic target given the potential market in Europe.”

Julian Dennard, Senior Investment Manager at YFM Group, managers of the South West Ventures Fund, added: "Tygan has a growing order book and sales pipeline for these cars, which catch the eye and the imagination. The marketing analysis suggests that the company has a bright future as a niche automotive manufacturer selling a luxury product to high net worth individuals.

Car loans versus traditional car financers

Article by David Harve

Barring the privileged few, buying a car remains one of the major purchases in ones life. A swanky car with a stylish exterior and comfy seating space is everyone’s dream car. But a low cost used car might be what they can afford at best. For the majority, extra finances are a must to own a set of wheels. Fortunately, the market is also flooded with car financers and car dealers. In some cases, the manufacturer themselves take up the responsibility of financing the cars they sell. Yet, many people prefer to use the option of car loans to pay for the automobile they buy. Let us see whether it is profitable to finance a car with loans or it is better to use other means of finance.

First of all, let us check out the interest rate. According to research carried out recently, car loans come with comparatively much lower interest than other mode of car financing. Experts connected to the research suggest that consumers can save a substantial amount if they use a loan to finance their car.

The next issue is that of hidden charges. The process of financing a car gets over very quickly if one goes through the traditional car dealers or car financers. Everything is carried out quickly and the consumer pays little attention to the small details. So, they come face to face with nasty surprises in the form of hidden charges.

The next agenda is that of terms and conditions. It is a universally acknowledged fact that traditional car dealers ask for comparatively rigid terms. They take the missed payments seriously and results in the seizure of the car. They also never hesitate to use threat and violence to recover their money. On the other hand, car loans come with flexible repayment terms. Missed payments are not taken seriously. The consumer is allowed to pay off the missed payments along with the next instalments.

Beside this you can take a car loan with or without collateral. But purchasing a car through traditional financers means that the car will be always there as a security. In case you fail in your repayment, the car will be repossessed by the financer. From the above discussion it becomes quite clear that car loans are a far better option for car financing. This option is cost-effective, hassle free and easy to manage.

After a few false starts, I think I’ve finally managed to get my sleep schedule re-aligned with the rest of the working world’s. I woke up at seven in the morning, and put in a full day of work. Even managed to pick up a few things from my ex-employer and leave the key with them. I guess that’s closure of sorts.

I’ve still got some finances to get sorted, but I think things might be starting to get back on track for the most part.

Cheap Used Car Finance – buy a car with a burden less loan

Article by Ben Gannon

You can buy a used car easily as it comes at low price. However, you may require a loan as the amount is still too high for sourcing it from own income. So, cheap used car finance becomes necessary. Cheap used car finance is called cheap because the finance is approved at lower interest rate. You can buy a used car of any make or any model through cheap used car finance.

The best way for availing lower interest rate on cheap used car finance is to offer the lender some security of the loan. The security may be any valuable asset of the borrower. Apart from the security, if the borrower has a good record of paying previous loans, his chances of getting cheap used car finance increase. So check your credit score first. An amount approved as cheap used car finance will depend on equity in the property placed as collateral. Your current repaying capacity also plays a role in determining the loan amount. Since you are buying a used car, lender will approve cheap used car finance for short repayment duration of few years. You can avail cheap used car finance without collateral but in that case the interest rate will be comparatively lower only when your credit score is excellent.

Sourcing part of cheap used car finance is important. Though you can get finance for used car from car dealers but they usually charge higher interest. It would be better therefore to go for a personal loan specifically meant for car buying. Such used car finance comes at cheaper rate of interest. You can contact cheap used car finance providers on their websites. Compare their individual interest rates for picking up a suitable lender offering cheaper rates.

After getting the finance, while buying used car make sure that the car has no mechanical defects and so hire a mechanic for ensuring the quality. Pay off the loan in time for escaping any debt and this way your credit score also will move higher.

Car Financing question by Mel: Where is the best place to get car financing?
I’ve heard you should go to credit unions, but they can be flaky and sometimes backfire. What about banks, insurance companies, and dealerships?

Car Financing best answer:

Answer by mccoyblues
Credit Unions are a great place to get car loans. As a long time member with both savings and checking accounts with a good credit rating all I have to do is pick up the phone and I’m approved for a loan.

Your local independent bank (avoid the big names) is also a good place to do business with.

Insurance companies don’t loan money and the dealership may offer better rates to the best customers but I would only use them as a last resort.

All of this relies on a good credit score. If your score is mid range or low, all financial institutions will be difficult to work with.

BEIJING — In the name of fighting pollution, China has sent the price of compact fluorescent light bulbs soaring in the United States.

By closing or nationalizing dozens of the producers of rare earth metals — which are used in energy-efficient bulbs and many other green-energy products — China is temporarily shutting down most of the industry and crimping the global supply of the vital resources.

China produces nearly 95 percent of the world’s rare earth materials, and it is taking the steps to improve pollution controls in a notoriously toxic mining and processing industry. But the moves also have potential international trade implications and have started yet another round of price increases for rare earths, which are vital for green-energy products including giant wind turbines, hybrid gasoline-electric cars and compact fluorescent bulbs.

General Electric, facing complaints in the United States about rising prices for its compact fluorescent bulbs, recently noted in a statement that if the rate of inflation over the last 12 months on the rare earth element europium oxide had been applied to a cup of coffee, that coffee would now cost .55.

An 11-watt G.E. compact fluorescent bulb — the lighting equivalent of a 40-watt incandescent bulb — was priced on Thursday at .88 on Wal-Mart’s Web site for pickup in a Nashville, Ark., store.

Wal-Mart, which has made a big push for compact fluorescent bulbs, acknowledged that it needed to raise prices on some brands lately. “Obviously we don’t want to pass along price increases to our customers, but occasionally market conditions require it,” Tara Raddohl, a spokeswoman, said. The Chinese actions on rare earths were a prime topic of conversation at a conference here on Thursday that was organized by Metal-Pages, an industry data firm based in London.

Soaring prices are rippling through a long list of industries.

“The high cost of rare earths is having a significant chilling effect on wind turbine and electric motor production in spite of offsetting government subsidies for green tech products,” said one of the conference attendees, Michael N. Silver, chairman and chief executive of American Elements, a chemical company based in Los Angeles. It supplies rare earths and other high-tech materials to a wide range of American and foreign businesses.

But with light bulbs, especially, the timing of the latest price increases is politically awkward for the lighting industry and for environmentalists who backed a shift to energy-efficient lighting.

In January, legislation that President George W. Bush signed into law in 2007 will begin phasing out traditional incandescent bulbs in favor of spiral compact fluorescent bulbs, light-emitting diodes and other technologies. The European Union has also mandated a switch from incandescent bulbs to energy-efficient lighting.

Representative Michele Bachmann of Minnesota is running for the Republican presidential nomination on a platform that includes strong opposition to the new lighting rules in the United States and has been a leader of efforts by House Republicans to repeal it.

China says it has largely shut down its rare earth industry for three months to address pollution problems. By invoking environmental concerns, China could potentially try to circumvent international trade rules that are supposed to prohibit export restrictions of vital materials.

In July, the European Union said in a statement on rare earth policy that the organization supported efforts to protect the environment, but that discrimination against foreign buyers of rare earths was not allowed under World Trade Organization rules.

China has been imposing tariffs and quotas on its rare earth exports for the last several years, curtailing global supplies and forcing prices to rise eightfold to fortyfold during that period for the various 17 rare earth elements.

Even before this latest move by China, the United States and the European Union were preparing to file a case at the W.T.O. this winter that would challenge Chinese export taxes and export quotas on rare earths.

Chinese officials here at the conference said the government was worried about polluted water, polluted air and radioactive residues from the rare earth industry, particularly among many small and private companies, some of which operate without the proper licenses. While rare earths themselves are not radioactive, they are always found in ore containing radioactive thorium and require careful handling and processing to avoid contaminating the environment.

Most of the country’s rare earth factories have been closed since early August, including those under government control, to allow for installation of pollution control equipment that must be in place by Oct. 1, executives and regulators said.

The government is determined to clean up the industry, said Xu Xu, chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals and Chemicals Importers and Exporters, a government-controlled group that oversees the rare earth industry. “The entrepreneurs don’t care about environmental problems, don’t care about labor problems and don’t care about their social responsibility,” he said. “And now we have to educate them.”

Beijing authorities are creating a single government-controlled monopoly, Bao Gang Rare Earth, to mine and process ore in northern China, the region that accounts for two-thirds of China’s output. The government is ordering 31 mostly private rare earth processing companies to close this year in that region and is forcing four other companies into mergers with Bao Gang, said Li Zhong, the vice general manager of Bao Gang Rare Earth.

The government also plans to consolidate 80 percent of the production from southern China, which produces the rest of China’s rare earths, into three companies within the next year or two, Mr. Li said. All three of these companies are former ministries of the Chinese government that were spun out as corporations, and the central government still owns most of the shares.

The taxes and quotas China had in place to restrict rare earth exports caused many companies to move their factories to China from the United States and Europe so that they could secure a reliable and inexpensive source of raw materials.

China promised when it joined the W.T.O. in 2001 that it would not restrict exports except for a handful of obscure materials. Rare earths were not among the exceptions.

But even if the W.T.O. orders China to dismantle its export tariffs and quotas, the industry consolidation now under way could enable China to retain tight control over exports and continue to put pressure on foreign companies to relocate to China.

The four state-owned companies might limit sales to foreign buyers, a tactic that would be hard to address through the W.T.O., Western trade officials said.

Hedge funds and other speculators have been buying and hoarding rare earths this year, with prices rising particularly quickly through early August, and dipping since then as some have sold their inventories to take profits, said Constantine Karayannopoulos, the chief executive of Neo Material Technologies, a Canadian company that is one of the largest processors in China of raw rare earths.

“The real hot money got into the industry building neodymium and europium inventories in Shanghai warehouses,” he said.

Car Financing question by here_4_1_day: I want to finance a car but am unsure as to how financing works. Can someone explain it to me?
I have a very good credit score. I am in need of a car right now, but cant pay for it all at once. I got some advice from someone to finance a car. What exactly is financing?

Car Financing best answer:

Answer by twofortwo
Financing is simply getting a loan to pay for your car. The financing is usually arranged by a car dealer with his finance companies or banks, but you can arrange your financing at your own bank or credit union.

Your credit score is important to getting the best interest rate. But it is also necessary to have an income and no excessive debt. You might find the following article useful:

Today I took a sort of personal day, inasmuch as those exist when you’re doing freelance working. I’m planning on eight- to ten-hour coding marathons over the next two days of the week, so I could get away with a so-called day off.

I mostly sat around reading up on finances, on life, being healthy, etc. to prepare for the next push in my quest to change my life over the course of 2009. In the first month, I started this Project 365, and lost my job; in the second, I started doing freelance work, and cut back my expenses further than I thought I could, and in doing so realized I didn’t need much of what I spent money on.

And during this third month, I’m taking stock of that which is really important to me, and treating it like a corporate Mission Statement. That is to say, every action I take from here on out must speak to my mission. That mission, which I understand will evolve over time, is, as of March 2009, the following:

To have a sound mind, healthy body, enviable reputation, and long-term human connections. By creating. Through art.

Online Car Finance – source of low rate finance to buy car

Article by John Marshall

While you are searching for a suitable finance that enables you in buying a car, your foremost concern must be that the finance is less burden some. Well, online car finance is considered as a sure shot way of availing finance at low rate and low cost. You can buy new or old car of any make through the finance.

Online Car Finance implies that the finance is provided by online lenders. These lenders have online loan application displayed alongside of their websites. All you are required to do is to fill details of loan such as amount, repayment duration, car model, home address etc. one advantage of taking finance from online lenders is that your application instantly is with the lender and so it’s processing gets started instantly. This results in timely approval of the car finance.

But the biggest benefit is that online lenders have always a car finance of competitive rates when compared to banks and financial companies. And if your personal circumstances are favorable then online lenders are more than willing to provide car finance at low interest rate. For instance good credit people with sound repaying ability surely get the loan at low rate.

Online lenders provide car finance in secured or unsecured options. You are required to offer a valued asset or the very car you are buying as collateral for taking secured online car finance. Such a loan is useful in borrowing greater amount at lower interest rate. Unsecured online car finance is a risk free offer to the borrower with the lender taking no collateral. However to cut risks, lenders tend to charge interest at higher rate. The loan amount is usually kept smaller under unsecured car finance.

Another advantage is that, thanks to growing competition amongst the lenders, bad credit people also borrow car finance without much trouble from online lenders. So even if you have late payments, arrears, payment defaults or CCJs mentioned in your credit report, you are bound to locate an online lender providing loan for your circumstances.

Ensure to make extensive comparison of online lenders on taking their rate quotes to find out whose offer is more suitable to your circumstances. And buy car from a reliable dealer for quality car.

New Car Financing Tips

Article by Harley Price

As you know, these are tough economic times and you want to make sure that you don’t pay way over for the new car you have decided on. Financing a new car should be planned well in advance of your arrival at the dealership and not as an after thought in the sales office. If you have not pre-planned your new car finance, you will leave yourself open to a very high APR and other scams. This article provides some very effective new car financing tips to ensure that you don’t pay over the odds for your new car.

Firstly, most people need a car loan to finance a new car and in these times of tight financial markets it is not always easy to get one. It is vital the you know your credit score before you apply for a loan. If you have a score lower than 600, any loan application you make is likely to be rejected. Moreover if you do not know your credit score, you leave yourself open to “bad credit” car financing scams. Knowing your credit score is perhaps the most vital new car financing tip. Don’t forget that you can “repair” your credit score very easily if it is under 600 and there are many online auto sites that can advise you on this. Sites such as Up2Drive and MyAutoLoan are also excellent for checking out the retail value, rebates and cash back incentives for the car you are interested in.

The second important new car financing tip is this: plan your new car finance ahead of time. Since most car buyers are overcharged up to 3% on their loans at the dealers, your best source of finance are internet sites such as Up2Drive and MyAutoLoan. These companies specialize in car financing and at the moment this may be your best chance of getting a car loan at all or a car loan with a low APR if you have a good credit score. If however you have a credit score of under 700 it is unlikely that even these sites will offer a low APR so it may be a good idea to raise your credit score by paying of any credit cards or existing car loans. Do not finance a new car at the dealers if you have a bad credit score as this leaves you open to monthly payment scams and very high APR! Once you have a pre-approved car loan, you can take it along to your chosen dealer and let him try and beat it!

Thirdly, if you are intending to trade in a used car that you still owe money on, make the dealer put in writing that he will pay off your car loan within 10 days. Then he, not you, is liable in court!

The last of my new car financing tips to remember is that if you are one of the lucky people who want to pay in cash for a new car, there is no need to fill out a credit application. Some dealers will maintain that this is required as part of the Patriot Act to monitor cash. Only your name is required to do this.

Nissan Ultimate Sports car – The New GTR

Article by Lila Ivanova

Nissan GTR 2008

Introduction

“THE LEGEND IS REAL”, SAYS OFFICIAL NISSAN WEBSITE ABOUT NEW GTR-2008The new Nissan GTR for 2008 was unveiled recently and has hit the streets of Japan. You can also see these thunderous giant in local used car auctions this summer. This development is a multi-performance-super car. The Nissan GTR 2008 model is a sleek looking vehicle that has a twin turbo V6-engine performing all wheel drive. This beast has a premium midship package with fully balanced gravitational down-force.

Performance

New GTR is equipped with a handcrafted turbo charged 3.8Ltr engine V6 24Valve. It generates a thundering horsepower of 480PS @ 6,400 rpm with a top speed of 193 mph. It has dual overhead camshafts with variable intake-valve timing. With a unique Nissan Direct Ignition system and fully symmetrical dual intake a low-back pressure exhaust system has given an edge to its earlier models. Other unique features include aluminium pistons, electronic drive-by-wire throttle, super low-friction cylinder block and iridium-tipped spark plugs.

Luxurious Interiors

The interior of the Nissan GTR 2008 is indeed a luxurious ride. With seats that are covered in velour cloth and are power or manually adjustable, you can easily drive or ride around in comfort in this car. The interior also features a front sliding armrest and a rear center armrest for those long cruising drives. Other features that the Nissan GTR 2008 has include power door locks, power windows, fine vision meters and cruise controls. It also has all modern HDD Navigation and AM/FM/CD audio with 6 speakers. Nissan safety includes Seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags and as well as Roof-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags.

Buy Japanese Used Versions

Very few many people know this fact, that buying Japanese used cars of latest models is one of the best deals you can ever get. Japanese car imports are of the highest quality due to the constant vehicle changes Japanese consumers go through. This constant change in cars in Japan is because of the high cost of re-registration and evaluation that their vehicles have to go through, making buying new vehicles easier for them than maintaining an older one. Used car dealers in Japan get quite a large number of these top quality Japanese used cars which they sell at very competitive prices. Some of these cars are also sold on online Japanese auctions and used car auctions by lot due to the constant upgrade in vehicles in the country. Buying a Japanese used car is a very good deal since they are almost brand new due to the low mileage on them. Japanese car imports will surely bring over some of the newer car models that have been traded up for other vehicles in Japan, giving you a chance to own a relatively new car for the fraction of what it should cost.

Used car bargains

The cost of a used car is based on its condition, mileage, reliability, performance and popularity. Of course, you want a car that is reliable and performs well. But do you want the same used car everyone else wants? If so, you will pay a premium for it. In some cases, the only difference is the nameplate.

How much difference in price separates good-but-popular cars from the good-but-overlooked counterparts? There is a noticeable price difference in family sedan ‘Corolla’ and its sister version in Japan sold by the name of ‘Sprinter’ a less popular but with exactly same features. Price saving is about USD0 over the nameplate Corolla. If you are adventurous and want to shop for a killer deal, go to top online dealer for a real deal. Yes it is never a bad idea to ask for a free advice from the top dealers of used cars, Nexuss International.

Super Autos problem by : handbook gear box or clutch less semi-vehicle gear box for tremendous automobiles.?
Need an truthful view. A great deal of the new Ferraris and Lamborghinis and other tremendous car’s transmissions are six-velocity automatic. I personally skip the old college transmissions, where you had to clutch and use the gear lever. Yeah it is more work when compared to the new car’s of right now but It had that exciting aspect to it and you had a lot more manage in what the vehicle did. Just my impression. I just want to hear other peoples opinions and tastes, likes/dislikes.

Tremendous Cars greatest solution:

Solution by PMack
I concur 100%

Although these twin clutch sequential gearboxes are faster on the monitor, isn’t the point of a sports vehicle to be “a single with the auto”, that is doing all the function yourself?

I’m totally Okay with Ferrari and other folks offering the choice of the automated gearbox, but what kills me is vehicles that don’t supply a handbook at all, like the Nissan GTR and the Ferrari 458 Italia. If I actually win the lottery and can manage a Ferrari I’ll acquire employed. Or just get a Lotus Elise or Exige – they do not even have electrical power steering!
